Simone Verfaille

Simone Verfaille lives and works in Cape Town, South Africa.

She earned a BA(Hons) Fine Art degree from Stellenbosch University in 2018. In 2024 she was one of the ten WORLDART10 competition winners. At present her work exhibits an exploration of abstract expressionism, characterized by fluid brushstrokes and dynamic compositions..

“For me, it’s all about the process. The ‘process’ extends further than art making. Valuing the process means finding joy, fulfilment and meaning in the act of creating itself; embracing experimentation, exploration and learning, rather than fixating solely on the end result. Embracing the process means focusing on the journey of self-discovery, continuous improvement and resilience in the face of challenges.”
